I've posted a short essay on the global food crisis for this month's campaign.

My post for this month's campaign is at thinkbridge
on the subject of how security trumps compassion and this leads to oppression. Please check it out. Thank you also for a great campaign!

I just learned of this campaign and am letting out a long breath. I've been desperate about the lack of discussion in the blogosphere about international human rights, and my shy attempts to introduce the subject of Rwanda's forgiveness and reconciliation policy on my own blog have met with utter fail. This campaign sounds like just what's needed to incite the curious. I know they're out there. Please add me to the list, I want to be part of this.

My post is up:

Mr. President: Please Ratify UN Human Rights

http://eddiegriffinbasg.blogspot.com/

In a Letter to President Obama, I make the following Human Rights Request:

First, we ask that you sign the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This doctrine merely reasserts the innocence, needs, and protection of children under the age of 18. It condemns exploitation of children for sex, labor, or military conscription.

Second, we ask that you sign the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Optional Protocol on Justice For All Rights.

FlawedPlan - I'm glad that you found us. We promote a monthly blogging campaign on the 27th of each month. We look forward to your entry on Dec 27th...

Eddie - Thank you for your continued support. Your Nov 2008 post is now included in the list for this month. It appears that we had a dozen bloggers supporting the effort this month. Hopefully the number goes up next month...
